Original Cottages launches first TV advertising campaign

Original Cottages TV advertising campaign was filmed at Red Rails in Newquay

Norfolk based Original Cottages (www.originalcottages.co.uk), one of the country’s largest family run holiday cottage companies, has launched its first ever TV advertising campaign and chose Newquay in Cornwall for its filming location.

Original Cottages filmed the advert at Red Rails, one of its holiday cottages in Cornwall. The property’s position overlooking Newquay beach provides a stunning backdrop for telling a story of the opportunities a holiday home holiday offers.

  • Original Cottages looks after 888 holiday cottages in Cornwall of which 15 reside in Newquay.

  • The popularity of Cornwall as a domestic holiday destination continues apace with bookings for 2020 already 72% ahead of where they were this time last year.

  • Overall, bookings for 2020 UK cottage holidays are already 35% ahead of where they were this time last year.

  • The advert will first air in the West Midlands where more than a quarter of Original Cottages holidaymakers (28%) have already booked a break in Cornwall.

  • The TV ad will be supported by commercial radio advertising - on air and online - as well as outdoor advertising on 82 buses across the Birmingham area, social media, pay per click and email marketing initiatives.

Fran Rosas, brand manager for Original Cottages, says: “The advert’s story embodies the essence of joy had by those experiencing a destination or holiday activity for the first time. It aims to inspire action in prospective customers and to evoke memories in those who already know the brand.”

Original Cottages has grown from a kitchen table business - starting life in 1992 as Norfolk Cottages - to a national collection of 26 in-destination holiday lettings agencies. In East Anglia, these include Norfolk Cottages, SALT Norfolk, Suffolk Secrets, Suffolk Cottage Holidays and SO Southwold.
